tdi - revo- mot- emmisions

car is getting remapped within the next 2 weeks, just need to book it in, but its also having its first MOT done on the 11th december.. being that its a derv will the revo thing make any difference to the emmisions as i really dont want to have it fail on that.

Diesels dont get tested for emissions

Hence we can have straight through exhausts

iirc the tester only revs it to around 3000rpm gently to check for excessive smoke etc. Revo would have little effect as its not under any load

Im pretty certain we dont get tested for emissions, as many diesels on here have no cat or back box and dont have problems.

I'll have to double check though

For diesels, the only emission tested at MOT is particulates (smoke). You can de-cat a diesel, with a remap to take account of the reduced back pressure, and still pass a MOT.

ahh yars, my golf was infact mistaken for a steam train. it huffed and it puffed and it killed everyone within a 10mile radius.

checked the oil in mine for the first time in 6 months yesterday, still perfectly fine. always wondered as i give it some hell a fair amount of the time and it hardly makes any smoke.

also, the remap thing is the last thing i will be doing to my car, cba with any of it after that, bhp=£ is just not worth it. will be saving money for next beast.

Remap is the best bet Georgie... then maybe a straight through exhaust... then maybe a filter then you'll need a new clutch... then....

Your last Leon was Revo'd wasnt it? Was it a 110?

yars, last one was a 110 standard, this is a 130 so hoping to see atleast 165 out of it. will throw it on a RR at some point after its done for humour value and comparisiment.

depends on what you want.. i am looking in the 10-12K bracket. they go up to 40K if you want them custom built to your spec. i'm just after a old racer, good fot road and fantastic on track.
