Since were talking about the speeds of diesels at the mo i just thought i would mention that yes upto 100 i would say there are excellent but i find they are very slow after 100 with the needle hardly moving as it approaches 140+. I find this in mine and i also have revo!

mine flies round too 130 then dies but i go up to 120 now and again but never over, also i would rather be fast to 100 than have a top speed of 155+

the revs and gearbox don't allow to go over 140 cos your power dies at 4k but at 130-140 its already past your peak power in 6th.

thats not true ;) mine has hit 153 on road angel and it flew to 135, the slowed down to 145 then crawled to 153.

i recon mine probalbly could hit 145mph but i haven't got the balls :)

p.s any price on clutch

P.s.s got the map sorted yet?

surely if you wanted huge speeds from a car you wouldnt buy a diesel, fast and fun yes, great mpg yes, 140+ aint really gonna happen unless you have a big cc engine.

precisely! mine races to 130 and i'm very happy, don't ever want to go faster.

yup... stupidly long 4th 5th and 6th gears...

ive seen 145 on the clock which is more likely 140, as i had bigger 17's on anyhow.

When i had my RR done they hit 117 in 4th!!!

Thanks for that guys...you both have very fast ibizas....any leon tdi drivers want to comment. I also hear revo isnt very strong top end.

comment on what? yes TDi any form be it 150 revo'd or 130 jabba'd or 160 leon, ibiza or altea ain't strong top end

BECAUSE REVS RUN OUT TO FAST!

God you lot are mad :), i woulnt even go anywhere near 100 now days, 6 points make you paranoid as hell to drive anyway.

mine gets to 100 quickly, 110, easly, 120 its slowing, 130 crawls, and eventually gets to 135 but thats it.

tis a standard 13tdi atm.

of course.. all on private roads and tracks this data was found out.

Last time I was on a private track, car flew to 130, was steady to 145, then crawled to 155 (on the clock). I had 500 revs left in 6th gear before I hit the red line, which would suggest a slightly higher top end ?

oh i only ever got too 3700 revs... it just wasnt intersted in going much further.. remap i say and stat!

mine is a standard cupra TDI, it rockets upto about 110mph (on private roads) then hits 120, then slowly creeps upto 140ish

still faster than my old PUG 406 and 306 DTurbo, even wipes the floor with my best mates 306XSi

Agree with Chris, since my remap it flies to 130 and not long to 145 either, havnt tested it further than that though..... my drive-way aint long enough...

Since being remapped there is noticably a lot more power further through the rev range which is helping the top end speeds. 80 to 130 = wow! :)

A quick question... ive been told driving at constant very high speeds isnt good for the turbo in a Diesel compared to a petrol, any truth in that?
