may sound a bit thick with this question but hear goes . whats a hybrid turbo ?and could i just put 1 on my car with standard internals , obviously i would change clutch and get a fmic but wud anyfink else need doing ?
a "hybrid" is a modified turbo unit, modified to; spin faster, allow more air through, open further etc etc
You can fit one with standard internals on the likes of a tdi (which already run at high compression) but as you've already said - its a good idea to fit a better clutch, fmic etc.
The only other thing you would need to do is get a custom re-map carried out to activate the turbo otherwise it wont work (the boost pressure wont be correct, the fuelling and timing would need to also be tweaked).
