Andrew Page will be open again soon,me mate works there so could get it cheap there.

hi evryone i posted bowt a week ago my issue wid my tempriture gauge in my leon mk1 20v turbo, the gauge was reading 90,then it would drop down to 60 the stay there for a bit then go back up,even tho the engine was warm.so had it in garage an they replaced the tempriture swich, but its started doing it agen ARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!! any ideas people?????

i got same problem mate, going to change my themostat an see if that helps. payed 25 quid for a new temp sender an still not working, depends on how driving to what temp car reads an takes forever to heat up to 90 when does work so will be changing thermostat once delaers open again. read quite a few posts on these problems at min.

Changed mine on Saturday, fitted new coolant temp sensor £10 off eBay and new thermostats £16 from awesome gti, temp now sits at 90 degrees once it's warmed up fully and stays there, car feels much better to drive and pulls harder too, not sure if it has anything to do with the new bits but they work for me.

There is a guide on here from Audi world I used that and had no problems and didn't have to remove the dipstick tube either.

Nice one lee69, I also found it a bit easier to remove the clamp that holds the ground on to the alternator out the way so I could get a small 10mm ratchet with the bendy joint on it to do up the bottom bolt again.

car been in garage today(agen) an they had it on the machine an found the engine temp to be fine but the displayed temp on the dash was reading 60! they said the engine was fine an they said it was the temp needle, witch moves up an down an normally sits at 90, was at fault. could this be or are they just trying to fob me off??????????????[:@]

Did you change the thermostat? there symptoms of thermostat not temp sensor in my opinion.

ye i get heat owt of the vents witch is strange, but that also backs up what the dealer said-----=engine temp fine, and the pin on the temp gauge,on the dash was at fault. ???
