temp gauge

hi all

my temp gauge will does not seem to go to the half way mark anymore but when it does it drops to the quarter mark after a min or so but most of the time it just goes up and down up and down what would you say it was

could your thermostat stuck open, do you find the temp only seems to rise when your cars at idle?

Stil got to fit mine ive got it but not got the new seal with it yet. hopefully on saturday it will be sorted.

Possibly coolant temp sensor.

Have you had the car checked on vag-com?

no i ant had it checkd with vag-com i dont no anyone with it near me i dont fancy taking it to a garage has there charge a arm and a leg

my temp sensor has a mind of its own too. Put it on my friends diagnostic tool and it said coolant temp sensor.

Getting fixed Monday.
