It will give you direct fault codes.
But there is no eml light on surely I would have codes appear on any diagnostics kit
Did you check your pcv valve?
Have you tried removing the pipe from your manifold and see if you can blow through your valve?
The pcv may be ok at idle but when your manifold pressure increases it may be leaking boost.
Worth a check, quick and easy and costs nothing.
No it doesnt always happen that way from experience
