Ive had IBIZA's for a few years now, I am on my third, however been getting a little board lately, so I’ve been looking into a MK2 LEON cupra. So I need an idea of the value of my car, I have had a look on autotrader, parkers and glasses guide but now I want your estimates as it is modified.

It’s an '08' FR TDI in Luna grey (silver) with light but expensive modifications (hence asking you lot)

12,222miles
Oil change @ 5k miles
Service @ 9k miles
Oil change @12k miles

2 new tires, Goodyear excellence £110each!!

HIDS4u conversion 5000k bulbs
Green panel filter
Cupra pd160 air intake
Powerflex bushes
(Cupra front bushes rear console)
Eibach front arb
Eibach pro street coilovers
Milltek turbo back non-resonated with decat
Colour coded mirrors (not fr grey)
Colour coded rub strips
Debadged rear & sides

The car is claybar'd and waxed every 2 months and the paint is as new, the only mark on the car is 2 tiny stone chips on the o/s alloy wheel.

always warmed up and cooled down properly

Run on shell v-power diesel

The car is immaculate, so any ideas of what it is worth??

** The car isn’t for sale (atm), trying to gauge a value and interest.

Thanks for your help.

Looking at you user name I guess it’s a 1.4 version...

Really hard to value mate, cause the main market for a car that is about a year old that has been modified is quite small. I tend to find the people who want ready modified cars are normally younger and therefore don't have the cash.

Secondly if it’s only a 1.4 version that’s been modified - again you are probably looking at the younger end of the market.

Sounds like you have really looked after the car - if I was you I would keep hold until we pull outa this crappy recession – or see what a garage will take in part ex against ya next car.

In the real world it is not worth any more than a stock one , couple this with the fact that a lot of people will not even bother to look at it because it's "modded"

Remove and sell the mods on here would be my advice.

BTW, the Leon is a way better car than the Ibiza, I came from an Ibiza FR to a Leon FR and I ain't looking back one little bit.

Selling modified car for a higher than stock price is about patience & the right buyer finding you before they give up, with a sense of irony I say usually the more radical you've been with the car the easier it is to sell. However, if you want to get the car out of your hands quickly then you'll probably have to accept the same or less than average price for your car. Generally the best way forward is to strip the car of its mods and return it close to stock as possible unless you've gone a little mad (eg a turbo conversion on an N/A car will be easier to sell with big brakes, uprated suspension etc.).

the money you put into modding a car is the owner's risk - i would never expect to get it back. My mate is selling his Bora. He's spent a fortune on it but i very much doubt he'll get anymore than a std good condition price for it

Like already metioned - you need the right person to buy it a non std car only appeals to a niche market.

Personally I would rather buy std and upgrade bits myself.

As said before, best sell any valuable mods separately, you WILL NOT get any extra out of a car that you've modded as a whole, it puts potential buyers off.. :(

I'm sure your not an idiot like some, but put yourself in someone else's boots: would you want to buy a modded car from someone you know nothing about, without really having much of a clue what the mods do, or what could go wrong...

Best option is to sell the mods, and spend the money on detailing or whatever to get it looking pristine, the dealer will bend over for a spanking to buy it off you, as it's ready to sell :p

P.S. Specialist websites, or someone on here who knows their stuff, will happily accept it modded, but tbh selling individual parts will net you more cash
