the drilling was dead easy, i used a little hand drill rather than a power one, you also get 4 self tapping screws included so I used a drill bit a tad smaller than the screw to ensure the screw had something to bite onto.

Its best to site the rest just infront of the cupholder (space it out with a can) as the top part of the rest slides forward if needed, however i havnt needed to.

If you want piece of mind take out the cupholder and look down the tunnel you'll see that where the screws come in you'll be nowhere near anything important :)

would the armrest in the way when changing gear?, saw some of other pic (may be other brand for the armrest) they look way too high. is this one pretty level with the gear knob?

Nice developments Phil.

looking at that dyno, the torque level seems too high. PD engines do tend to make more on the rollers than standard figures state, but 40lbs more seems abit dodgy.

are you sure its standard?

might be the dyno lottery?

the fact it's made more than factory figures i'd be happy. however that graph looks well unhappy

lol yeh, measured at 8.1

The only mods that would affect it would be the cupra intake, the rest are purely cosmetic or interior.

The car runs on V-Power Diesel which again makes a very slight differance to how the car behaves but it is slight.

Over the past month or so, the performance has been very patchy and irratic, sometimes sharp and responsive, and others very stodgy any ideas to whats causing that??
My 2p.

Whats happen is that they put full throttle on before 2000rpm which causes the rollers to over read from the sudden massive rush of torque. If they did the same at 2000rpm you will get a more accurate figure.

this one has the beauty of height adjustment

Using that wheel you can change the angle of the rest to make it slope a bit more. Im not a little guy at 6ft 3" so what ive done is sight it here

This way its perfect to my driving position like so. This shot is whilst it was in 4th

Dont get me wrong the rest is in the way of the handbrake but you do get used to it very quickly and id rather have more storage and more comfort for the sake of a 5 sec pain when parking up (as i never use it any other time)

Cheers mate much appreciated  Its always tough to know where to start.

it'll be even more interesting what happens next week when i take it up to Will @ P-torque, it definately seems like that they shut the throttle off doesnt it. When driving the car, it doesnt feel like it has 280 torque that for sure. I'll be sure to put up the before and after road results next week once its done.

I dont think you reaching 280lb/ft is the problem. to be fair. What your aim should be is to get the best torque curve possible. Dont listen to peak figures they only tell you 20% of the story.

cheers mate, i know what you mean about the top end figures, its pointless having them if they are only there for 500rpm then gone again as you'll always be changing gear (which is my current problem) and any performance will be gone as your then off the power when changing gear again. I'll ask will to try and make the graph nice and smooth rather than jerky

had my p-torque remap for about 10k now....really smooth power delivery. Dont think you will be disappointed.

touch wood, no sign of clutch slip either.

my armrest just arrived through the post :D, i need a 3mm drill bit... am i correct?

iirc i used a 2mm modelling hand drill. It was about a 1mm smaller than the screws to ensure they had something to grab onto when attaching to the tunnel.

What do you think of the quality?? good aint it :D

sin but it will be worth the wait, so much more comfy when pottering down the motorway, and keep all me bits to hand and not in the glove box. you cant go wrong with a facelift, but why not think about the cupra?? at least you'll get an upgrade in performance as well as the looks??

a little touch of magic

mr will has done it again and worked his magic as i had the stage p-torque map today, had some beautiful results on the dyno which confirm the previous map to be either dodgy road or donut operator, but hey who cares now.

Before: 150bhp & 246ft/lb
After: 179bhp and 303ft/lb torque,

the power is smooth all the way up the rev range to about 4000, shame the brummy weather forced to drive like a granny all the way home, still there always tommorow

Will my good man you are a legend :worship:
