o yeh?? what you got planned??

The path for air to get to the SMIC looks a bit restricted. I might see about removing the fog light and maybe adapting the grill. Not sure really, will have to have a look first if I get some time tomorrow AM... ;)

I know the SMIC is small compared to the Forge or Seat Sport FMICs but I think it should operate better with better airflow. The LCR and TT's had twin SMIC as standard so they must be good for 225bhp right?

hmm i like you train of thought, on the FR's isn't the only air feed through the n/s fog light, so I'm guessing you thought train could be along the same lines as smoothing the air box? remove anything that isnt required and that restricts the feed to the SMIC??

Would be interesting to hear what you find

 Will have a look. It will only work by taking bits off, like the fog light for a start. Might be today, but probably half-term week now...

cheers mate, I'm really happy with the way its developing, sometimes the simple mods are the best. If the council coffs up (here's hoping) i'll be getting something and tad more major done.

you'll be glad when its all done, you gettin it sorted this week??

what goodies you got coming?? or is that one of those, wait and see things :p

fold the mirrors inwards then grab hold of the small bit by the car and pull, and don't be gentle, if they've been on the car for a while then dont be surprised to see the odd clip break, the new ones will just clip in place, its dead easy

hope it all comes back as good as new, i'll keep an eye on ya thread for the bigger mods or some inspiration to what to do with mine ;)

first off tho, i have to replace the rear discs thanks to the corrosion,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....426099&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_3414wt_821

these will be with me wednesday/thursday time

rear pads will probably need doing, bushes are getting checked, handbrake mech needs checking, and the aux belt whistles and squeaks like a mouse on fire up and there's an irratic clunk when setting off when cold, im hoping thats to do with either the brakes or the handbrake mech,

right this could well be the final post on me ride cause ive had enough.

i got the discs replaced, great, got the pads replaced, not so easy as they were seized in the :censored: carriers,

lifted the car up on the ramps, and the console bushes that where replaced when i bought it 12k (or 7 mnths ago) have already started to :censored: split

took the car away drove it for a couple of days slight wine in the background got really loud on the way back from work yesterday and then this morning coming back from the shops something broke on a pothole and the car was twitching like a pedo in a primary school, thankfully low speed, able to park it up, took it to a garage, to be told front left bearing broke, rear left on the way out. £215 please sir.

my 4th ibiza, best car ive ever owned, worst purchase i've ever made.

Somebody somewhere is going to feel pain for this, you buy it from a recognised dealer £8250 on a car, that in the 7mnths of ownership has only spent 5mnths on the road and over £1k in bills keeping it running. it aint right. [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

Sorry to hear the cars not behaving, we've all been there at some point and more than once. With the roads as they are, a lot of people will be repairing due to pot hole damge. Did you buy it from Seat? Are you not taking it back there and having things fixed under warranty?

in an ideal world yes, i bought it from barlow motors in Wolverhampton (Official SEAT delaer) when i saw the car advertised it stated approved used car, signed the paperwork, del boy, sorry damien the salesman states that you'll get all your paperwork pack in the post within a week (finance docs, seat assistance warranty etc etc) i didnt see any reason to disbelieve them as it was an approved used car i was buying, or so i thought.

It took 4 months of fighting phones calls and me genrally harrasing them and then a phone call from SEAT UK just to get the finance document which i'd signed as they where then stating, we never give them out anymore......................

It then emerges on the 9th of july when i took the car to MK seat that the warrenty was due to expire on the 24th November when its 3 years old, so 6mnths, no seat assistance then was proven on the 28th October when the egr failed for the 1st time, so as you can see the dealer had done a number on me, and there's naff all i can do as i didnt print the advert advertising approved used car or take photos of the car on the forecourt with approved car stamped all over it.

the dealer in northampton (my local) doesnt know there arse from there elbow and persistantly orders the wrong :censored: parts.

believe me i know about the pot holes, i hit a whopper as you read earlier in the thread on the right and there both perfect, i go over a small one on the left and it breaks the front and rear s on the way out

You should speak to Seat UK, they take these thing very seriously, i had some issues and they phoned the dealership, next thing i know the dealership were doing everything they could to help. Seat UK don't f**k about, they will close them motherf**ker down in a heart beat.

I'm going to, the previous phone call to them was dealt with properly and got the dealer to to stop mucking around and give me the finance docs, shame it resulted in a trip to wolverhampton but i swung by p-torque on the way back so it weren't all in vein.

Dealers earn their money with add on sales, so if they had stated at the point of sale that it only came with 6 months, and offered to sell the SEAT backed extended warrenty, i probably would have bought it. Its just the principle of lying through their teeth just for the sake of it, stealer is most appropriate name.

On a happier note, cars back, *touchwood* no creaks, whines, groans, whirring noise's to speak of, the car is tracking better as well which is good, alot less twitchy under breaking and accelerating so all is good, so im hoping thats it with the forced expenditure until May with the 40k service + console bushes + front pads (possibly upgrade to 312mm brakes then as well if i still have the car)

this is rear bearing

pretty corroded

i would have pics of the front at least half of it is somewhere on the roadside........

Pedal To the Metal

ok well SEAT UK are looking into the case so will hopefully get a result out of them for all the troubles.

So a mixed bag of stuff to report 2 good 1 bad.

This strange crack appeared on the dashboard facia  no clue to how I got it........
CrackInFacia.jpg

now the good:

TT Pedals picked up the accelerator pedal from northampton Audi, and tbh alot of dealers could do with taking notes from them. super slick operation:
Anyway Pics:

whilst fitting the pedals i stumbled upon this:

 thats the puppy been watching it on eBay for a while when it was £50, then the seller dropped it down to £30 or best offer, offered him £25 inc delivery and here we stand today, pretty damn good deal, if money werent so tight i would have bought the break light at the same time for £40 but i'll sort that out after payday next week
