Thermostat Replacement = FAIL

Has anyone got any pictures of where all the fan components are?

Just realised my fans have never come on since I bought the car, and its been thrashed a couple of times....

The fans do come on with the air-con.........how do I trick it into thinking the coolant is hot to activate cooling fans?

My firrst guess would be that your thermoswitch has failed, like DJ-LIAMC, and is not turning the fans on.

Where will I find the thermoswitch bud?

On the front of the block follow the bottom hose.

What car do you have?

On the 1.8T its at front of block, drivers side behind a plastic housing that the water pipe goes to.

Thanx adam......it's a cupra R 03, made the mistake of removing CTS HOUSING. Do i need to know anything more that could be important or is it pretty much straight forward???

P.S. Did NOT get any rubbers with the new thermostat...................what do i need to do?

Have a read of this mate......I would personally fit new seal.

obviously you need new G12+ coolant to

You re-use the same rubber seal.

The rubber seal on mine was a bitch to remove after being in place for 90k. The seal in only a couple of quid so well worth replacing.
