Yeah he was a big help, should have seen him giggle like a girl when he booted it up the road. He loves his Golf GT TDIs but he was amazed how quick the Seat was!

The Ibiza's are very simple to self service. I do mine using parts supplied by either Eurocarparts or carparts4less (depends on who has the better deal at the time).
A simple service kit for the Ibiza costs:
Mann Airfilter £6.31
Mann Oil Filter £3.10
Mann Pollen Filter £6.92
Castrol Edge FST (507.00 Spec) 4l £31.99
£48.32 = carparts4less (Bargain)
You could get it even cheaper if you are willing to use cheaper filters etc... but Mann are a very reputable supplier.

That's great Badger, thanks. I plan on keeping this car for a few years so will be taking care of it.
What are some good beginner performance parts too? Won't be for a while as I'm sure I'll need to get used to the stock power, especially after the Astra.

You could go for a simple remap. The stock airfilter, exhaust and turbo will produce you a healthy 170bhp and 280ft/lbs. Clutch and flywheel will hold this power, but 'may' wear slightly sooner due to the extra power being put through. Only go stupid if you're planning for more power (like me)
Handling - Rear Anti-rollbar is recommended and depends on if you want springs or coilovers, reduce the ride height slightly.

Yeah I was thinking of a remap eventually, I may get an air filter upgrade soon anyway.

Personally would leave tuning boxes and go for a remap.
I wouldn't bother with an upgraded panel filter either. When remapping my car, we found that the standard filter would flow enough air for 200bhp. Anything north of this figure became restrictive.

Finally got her thursday. Such a nice little car, so pleased with her. Sticks to the road much better than the Astra as well that's for sure, look forward to driving her every time I go out. And the fuel usage is so much better even if you give it a boot!
Just a quick curiosity, my steering wheel audio controls wouldn't work on my drive to college this morning, but when I started the car up at lunch and after college they worked fine. Is this a common problem, is it expensive to fix AND would it come under the warranty of the dealer I bought it from? If so I'll get it sorted ASAP. Cheers!

The problem with dealers though is if it works when you take it in they can't do anything
So if it's not working when you take it to the dealer make sure you don't reset it by turning the car off as it might then work get it not working take a friend with you and leave it running while you get someone to check it out

That's what I was going to do, but if I leave it with them and they switch it off and on can they just say it was a one off and not fix it? Or would they have to because it isn't working?
