Seems tidy. The interior looks in good condition, aside from the front seats needing a good clean.

The price is quite high, although it does have OZ alloys which i think are expensive, also may or may not have been lowered, difficult to tell because of the bigger wheels, in which case check your insurance if it has you may have to go specialised.

2.0 GTI 8 valves on Autotrader seem to be about the 1k mark.

The mileage is ok, I had one that had done 144k and was smooth as you like, unbelievably good engines when looked after. However for the price they want I would be asking for a complete service history.

Personally i think even 1500 is pushing it for that car, more like 1200 tops, bearing in mind dolly told me he had seen mint 16v's go for 1200.

thank you i will fone them and see as i will be getting in on financee you see i will be px my cordoba against it:) i got a quote and cheaper than my cordoba 1.6 lol

I agree, it's a 10yr old warm hatch, it's not worth two grand of anyone's money (especially since it's pre-nedded up)

Definately not worth 2k even with the OZ alloys, just because you add an expensive item to a car it doesnt mean its value increases by that amount.

May of had a light front ender at some point as there is damage to the passenger side headlight and the lower centre grille is a 1.4 one and the fog light surrounds are missing.

Depending on what state/mileage yours is i'd look elsewhere. I paid close to that for one with half as many miles

It looks like its been raged all its life, I would not go anywhere near that car! Also it is way over priced, for a 8v gti in that condition with that mileage you should never pay more than £1000. For £2000 you could a mint 16v with half the mileage!

Re insurance; worth giving adrian flux a ring. Sometimes they have very good prices and good deals.

Ive used them before they were good when i had a claim, using them this year as they were the cheapest and also had european cover and european breakdown in with it.

Re 8 valvers, plenty of good ones about for around and less than 1k, try autotrader without the distance limited to see. Ive got an 8v which seemed to be used as a normal runaround, very tidy, so they were sometimes bought as a normal car rather than ragged the tits off.

hang on, you'll pay a grand 'more' for a car you can afford to insure, than getting a properly priced car?

that makes no sense

unless you're 15 you'll be surprised how cheap a valver is to insure.

wheels are scabby, there are jacking point covers missing as well as the spotlight covers, the seats look manky. its had a different exhaust fitted,(altho it looks better than the OE one) some **** has put 2.0 badges on (WHY???)
so I would hazard a guess that one (or more) of the FIVE OR MORE previous owners have been a little bit on the lairy side with it...
i wouldnt pay anywhere near that kind of money for one in perfect nick let alone one thats been mistreated.

I'd buy the red valver and chuck the saved cash at a damn good service and the extra insurance.

If your over 21 the insurance shouldn't be a massive difference, but having said that we don't know where you live and 16v Ibiza's could be joyriders and ram raiders wheels of choice.
