Place called stealth racing in southam .. always looked after my tuned cars, vince and john know their stuff! Yeah gearbox wad painfully expensive.. when u factor in I had clutch and flywheel changed at same time I was pushing 2k and this did not impress the mrs when the reason for the above was to just get rid of a whine in 3rd lol

Think they mentioned your car when i asked for quote to have my gearbox repaired, i couldnt warrant spending that type of money so had it done elsewhere. You are about Stealth knowing a few tricks but sometimes cant afford what they charge. The whine in third you mention isnt to bad to those who just drive the car but what we dont realise is the whining happens for a reason i.e worn bearings etc causing metal filings making matters worse in the gearbox and when you come to finally get the box rebuilt the price to repair will be more as more damage has been done :(

Well looking on ebay just....you cant get a 55plate with less then 62k on the clock for less than 5k and thats yellow! If the paintwork isnt faded then a prope ovni will sell well because its still a great colour to own.

Look at this on eBay:

2006 Seat Leon 1.8 T 20V 225 CUPRA R, ONLY 62000 MILES WITH FULL SERVICE HISTORY

http://bit.ly/RKnYND
I havnt read the latest posts so maybe a bit late

But the car here is the wors car I have ever seen. I drove two hours to see this car and two others and was the biggest waste of time. This car alone is filthy inside with sand all over the das and in the cup holder. Non original mats scuffed wheels jack poins missing dirty engine oh and the front splitter has been ripped off wrecking the bumper. I went nuts at the guys selling it. !!!!!!

Worth abouy 2000 max

Is true, people avoid it because it fades and peals like mad, its common knowledge.

May statement wasn't because I think yellow as a colour is bad.

Agreed there is known colour/lacqeur issues often with the colour on this model but then obviously people still buy them and often still prefer them to the other colour options. In my case it's not an issue as it's basically a track car but if someone wants concours type finish that they want to polish perfect etc. every weekend then for sure they would often need a respray to correct it properly, or buy alternative colour in first place:)

It doenst need to be concourse but I wouldn't buy a car that was notorious for the lacquer peeling off and every panel a different shade and the only way to fix it is a full respray at well over a grand lol.

Originally it was gonna be more labour taking up the cash but once the box was out they discovered I needed a new casing.. so 2 weeks later on back order from germany and £450 work could start!! I probably could have put up with the whine but was getti g the stage2 map done so thought best to fix it. I guess they can be pricey but ill pay for peace of mind as I know they know their stuff.
