Want a Cupra, but wondering how much my Feb 08 FR Tdi is worth, with 18's on and 15k on clock......

Cheers

Not sure if you'll get 12-13k in the current market to be honest.
This guy on ebay is trying to sell his 57 reg 20k Leon and doesn't seem to be getting very far. Bids got up to 10.850 last time he tried:

Give Irfan a call and see what he'll give you as PX, he'll probably do you a new cupra for less than 17.5

Id say your in a stronger position that if you were moving from a cupra to an Fr tdi. If you were willing to go for a cupra same age and milage, you might even be able to get it with no money changing hands???

That would be quite tempting.........just fancy a bit more power, but then sensible part of me says with the miles I do stick with the TDI, and get it chipped!!!

I can concur with Michael B, I have driven a standard Cupra and my FR TDI is also remapped. Although the Cupra may be a bit faster, in real world terms the extra torque from the remapped FR TDI makes it feel quicker

wait for the DPF-OFF from CC. im guessing it will be approx £1000 ish maybe more not sure no prices yet but clearly 225bhp and like 450-460nm of torque it give you some fun. and in these days £1000 is better than loosing £5k

also the dpf-off solution give you 3-5mpg more when driving normal.... better solution in my opinion

I would keep the FR. The Cupra can get pricey to run on fuel especially if you are doing 15K a year.

Actually worked out the figures last night and a Cupra is about 17 pence per mile if you use super unleaded. Also you spend half you life in petrol station, some weeks I was filling up 3 to 4 times.

Deprciation on a Cupra is also quite bad at the moment.

If you have to even consider mpg, do NOT get the cupra. Sensible option is to chip the TDi since it is cheaper and a car change is not required. If you change the car the costs alone can be quite shocking.
