I currently have the Laguna setup but im re-doing all the pipework in 63mm and routing it down the washer bottle side too.

I need a new intercooler as my laguna cooler is damaged quite badly but a new one is around £100

I have been looking at other options though for the price and wondered if something like this would be good enough?

I know PhilW has got a universal ebay on his and its 400bhp+ so im guessing they arent bad at all.

Just dont know how easy this would be to fit as it looks really thick

Opinions?

Hi, that should fit fine as long as you don't mind a little chopping and fabrication, the one Philw runs is the same as mine iirc the core size is 600x300x76 and that fits, the one you are looking at is 11mm thiner so should be a little easier to fit.
I have been running mine for almost 3 years iirc and not had a single problem with it.

Just what i wanted to hear im probably gonna get that one

700mm seems quite long tho lol

Ill have to measure the laguna cooler see how long that is!

700mm is the overall length of that cooler, 600mm is the core size of mine then the end tanks are around 120mm each end iirc so it's around 840mm in total so 700mm will fit no problem.

Done a bit of measuring today and i will be able to get this to fit relatively easy

One thing that bugs me though is its only 230mm high so to mount it to the top of the crash bar using brackets i dont think it will sit low enough once the bumper is re-fitted.

I ideally want the 300mm high version but its 76mm thick lol

Move your rad back berg that will give you abit more room for the larger one

Is it easy to do mate?

I will probably do this anyway but i want to keep aircon etc

Well after reading loads of Danny_Lad mk3 cupra thread i see he ran this intercooler on his gt2x setup and it looks awesome

Its the one im going for :)

There is no need to move anything with a 65mm core, I ran air con rad and engine rad in stock location with a 76mm core. I have now removed the air con rad but that's purly due to deleting the complet air con system.

Cheers for the input tasha that will save me alot of messing

The bumper has already been trimmed to fit the Laguna cooler so "hopefully" it might not need anymore trimming.

Although its not the end of the world if it does !

Joe i'd love a pro alloy but for the ££ i decided against pro alloy and forge etc and these intercoolers have a really good review from all the different sites ive looked on so for £80 it should flow well especially with my new pipework.

Ive now ordered the intercooler so all i need now is to get some 57-63mm reducers for the inlet/outlet then its game on
