Hi, just wondered of those with the early pd130 sport's if anyone has found a fix to the pulling left issue. It seems they all suffer a bad pull to the left but was wondering if anyone has found a fix or know a good place who can set it up? ive had it aligned on 3 hunter machines and still get the pull despite 5 garagaes checking the car over and saying everythings fine

Mine doesn't pull to the left. I've got a 2004 Ibiza TDI Sport.

It's got polybushed console bushes and all standard suspension. The thing I find is that the tyres wear on the inside more than the outside.

The road has a natural camber which will make it feel like it's pulling to the left as the car will be more inclined to head down hill so will need a slight correction to the right.

Sounds strange, but trust me.

Find a open stretch of road where you can see down the entire road and which has a good camber both left and right. Drive down the opposite side of the road (when safe) and see if the car pulls to the left, right or carries on straight.

If if pulls to the right then the car is just easily persuaded to follow the camber. If it carries on straight with no pull, then your tracking on the left wheel needs a slight push to the right.

P.S. I have 15mm rear spacers fitted too.

Yeah it's horrible if road has slight camber it will pull hard to the left and drive straight on wrong side so I think it must be slightly out.

I've had my tracking done recently after fitting cupra bushes. It does pull a bit to the left but the tyres are a bit past their best and as mentioned I think the camber doesn't help. I can see slightly more of my left indicator stalk through the gaps in the steering wheel than my right one, but it's not so bad that I can see the bottom of the left indicator stalk if you see what I mean.

Mine is an 03 tdi sport. I have had every problem imaginable but not that.

As Badger mine wear more on side than out and I have poly bushes plus cupra bushes.

My last set of tyres lasted me 6000 miles! I know what you mean since February I've had cambelt (was fitted wrong by last owner), clutch and flywheel, new antirollbar, cupra wishbone bushes, front wishbone bushes, lower engine mount , 2 cv joint and gaitor and it still pulls like a bitch!

Had mine 4 wheel aligned front to back side to side corner to corner all ok . Put a set of ditch finders on n get 6 to 8k befor it scrubs em off. Best tyres i have found are barum hm3 ;continetals basterd child got 8k and loads of grip left at least 5 mm.

Yeah mine was aligned at local tyre place and everything was green on print out. If I hold the wheel straight it will drive straight but soon as I let go it veers left!

I had 6k out of my last set of nankangs

Front tyres are both brand new

36psi front and 34 rear (rears are odd patterns)

Every garage said everything looks as it should do and it drives straight if wheel straight just soon as I let off it goes left! I might turn the steering weight up on vag com and see how I get on

Thanks mate, I went to aline tyres in Dudley who did similar and have a full hunter machine which can check the subframe and that they all measure up as they should and it said the car was perfect.

Ive also started getting a knock under neath the footwell area when braking hard :(

With regards to the knocking. It could be any number of things but first check your undertrays, wheelarch liners etc. are all firmly in place (just before you start spending money/changing bits etc.)
