Hi , i have recently been having problems with my rev's , so i took it in to a local garage and he top me it came up on the vag com , " Throttle control valve faulty " , So i decided to buy a new trottle body , The problem i was having befour was the car was rev'ing to low and cutting out straight after starting , but after replacing the old throttle body i started the car and it was rev'ing fine around 800rpm , but after a small run it came back and it idled at 1800rpm , so i got the garage to reset the setting and it went back to 800rpm , but as soon as i run it again i goes back to 1800rpm , has anyone got any ideas?

thanks

Nope its do-able with vag-com, assuming that the 1.6 aligns the same as the cupra.

I had an issue a couple of weeks ago with rough idleing and cutting out and not running right, turned out to be the connector on the main engine plug although it threw up TB faults.

£400 odd quid, as it was pretty time consuming tracking down the problem.

Check the wires around the TB to start with, might be worth finding sombody with vag-com just to re-align it and give it a scan to see what faults actully come up.
