i currently have both front and rear windows tinted, but was pulled over last night because apparently the front 2 are a little to dark!

front two window tints are being taken off tomorrow..

anyone give any opinions on whether to keep the back windows tinted as well as the rear or all off?

imo opinion all off.

think it only looks halfgood when done all round. but definately not half of the car

what do you have?

On my black 1.4, I had limo on back and medium on front. IMO, if you have limo rears, you need a bit of a tint on the front to avoid a massive contrast.

If you have medium on rears, then nothing on the front should look ok.

what colour car BTW?

black tints look good on black cars, and maybe red and yellow. Definately not on silver IMO, hence me not getting em done on this car

should be 30% to be legal on front two, just get them two redone in legal tints.

AFAIK, anything on front is now illegal. My insurance was ok with them on last car, and I was never pulled in 3 years, guess I was lucky!

that was a couple of years ago, and alot of new cars come with tints so can't be fully illegal!

i see a lot of range rovers etc wi limo on rear and usually nothing on front.

Think T. Spark said he was pulled and copper mentioned summat about age of car, can't see how age of car matters if you cant see, you cant see, regardless!

many 'sports versions' mk2/3 golf gti corsa sri/gsi come with coloured glass too.

when the 30% thing was in force companies didn't take the coloured glass into account so it'd end up being over.

people forget that the glass (inc windscreen) has a slight tint on out of the factory

Car windows are tinted as standard to allow about 75% light in.

I was pulled for my front windows last year and he tested the front windscreen to prove a point that it only just passed.

So you can't put any tint on any windows forward of the b-pillar

my mate got pulled a few weeks back, front two windows are totally illegal now, unless they come from the factory already tinted, due to the glass actually being tinted and not a film applied later on. something like that anyway.

think iv decided im gonna have all the tints taken off, look kinda chavvy and from seeing others not tinted i thinks its a better look ... all or nothing!
