Just though I would post this as i have read a few posts where key fobs have broken and people are shelling out for new ones

The problem

The metal loop comes away from the plastic housing, meaning that you can't attach your keys to it. Its a poor design so I guess this will happen to alot of you.

The Fix

if you are not to bothered about it looking identical then this is a good fix

Remove the metal loop completely and open up the housing. You will see on one side of the housing where the ring was positioned, the gasket is shaped away from the corner.
Carefully drill a 2.5mm hole through one side of the casing, ensuring that the gasket is not broken. Now put the two halves back together and use this hole as a pilot to drill the other side. Clean up the entry and exit holes with a chamfer or round.

Now you can attach a standard key ring to the key fob and your keys. If you have done it correctly then this will be far stronger than the original metal loop

See picture.....cost £0.00
