na with luggage and high speed driving its normall 36psi in front and 42psi in rear
although derv burners normally have bit more psi in front tyres for normal drivin than petrol

at the end of the day its what you prefer i put 36psi all round in mine when i fitted new tyres cos of the driving i do. u'll soon konw if theres too much psi in tyres as the middle of tread will start wearing out quicker than the shoulders.

Surely its not what you want to put in or what you think thats best its what the manufacturer states. For the LCR its 33 PSI front and rear unloaded. This is the key to good tyre wear and handling. Also buy yourself a digital tyre gauge, this will increase your tyre life and handling if you use it weekly.
If your car is loaded its about 36 ish so a good bit higher

Was running mine at 30 and just dropped them to 28 as the centres were wearing?

There is some confussion with the owners manual because the cupra r came as standard with 17" rims, the 18's were an option in europe but factory fit here in the UK, and i reckon they didn't change the tyre pressures in the handbook to suit!

Theres a sticker on the petrol flap that states 33 PSI front and rear
The central wear is obviously no down to excessive pressure if your below the stated recommended running pressure.
What tyres are you using? Pirellis by any chance?

As discussed in another thread, if you set your pressures when cold and then spend the vast majority of your mileage on motorways then the tyres will be constantly warm which 'may' increase the actual pressure to beyond the reccomended 33psi - hence the centre wear.

I think your missing my point the STICKER on the fuel flap is marked up for the smaller wheels. 18" tyre pressures should be much lower!

I just looked at my Bridgestone tyre pressure chart at work and it lists two tyre sizes for the Leon cupra R, 205/55/16, front pressure 33 , rear pressure 32. And the 225/40/18, 29 front and 26 rear.

every tyre manufacturer recomends different psi in tyres that they feel will benifit the tyre life. when i 1st bought my car the dealers had put 29 psi in front and 26 psi in rear, (this is what normally goes in fiesta tyres) within 3 wks the side walls had been damaged ( runflat) due to incorrect pressure. most charts only specify pressures in bar not psi. so answer to the main question in my experience running lcr presssures in a tdi should be ok.

And also a surprisingly various thoughts on how wrong Seat are when they state what tyre pressure you should run in a car that was designed by them
