So, at least a couple of people (me included) have working slow speed fans, but they don't come on at the temperature we believe they should.
If it wasn't for having liquid guages/torque apps etc telling us exact temperatures, we'd be going off the coolant temp needle on the dash. Mine always reports 90oC, but my slow speed fans don't kick in until the liquidguage reports a coolant temp of 105oC (needle still at 90oC).
I keep reading they should be kicking in earlier - but had I not had the extra guage, I'd never have known - I'd simply believe all was OK because my fans kick in at slow speed, they come on when I turn the AC on, and my guage needle never goes above 90oC.
So I'd be interested to hear what temps other people's coolant is at before their slow speed fans kick in..... Are you all reading 96oC off a separate guage, or is your dash needle actually moving? I've read that the needle doesn't move off 90oC if the actual temp is between 85oC and 105oC.....
I know some people have the fans kick in at 96oC on their liquidguage, so I know my car runs hot - but how many others are too (without realising it)?
Interested to know what figures people report
Thanks!
