I`ve done 40000 miles with maxed out K04 and a further 45000 miles with the IHI - for me there`s no comparison, the IHI is far better - tons of positives and hardly any negatives.
With the K04 you think you have a `top end` - when you drive the IHI you know you have one.;)

I`m puzzled by your `exhaust dilemma` - I was pretty sure that Blueflame made Jabba`s 3" downpipe!
Jabba`s downpipe and Cat[Blueflame], does not direct fit onto the Milltek centre section as supplied for fitment for the standard LCR - the Milltek had to be modified to fit the IHI pipework setup
I assume the same will apply to Blueflame`s standard fitment LCR exhaust - whatever system you use, will have to be modified to fit - not difficult to do when fitting the turbokit:)

I went to Blueflame direct last month and asked them to build me a 3" IHI back system - to which they replied - we can't do that, Jabba own the rights to the IHI downpipe and you'll have to get it off them....

I did think there was going to be work invovled in getting all the parts of the exhaust system, DP, sportcat together, but wanted to look at the easiest options for when MRC put the bits on....

Here is a pic of tthe Milltek exhaust for the standard LCR that I started out with.

My first mod was to upgrade the K04 with the APR 3" downpipe and cat - the standard LCR DP and the Cat section of the Milltek were replaced with the APR DP and Cat.
Milltek make a spool piece to connect the discharge side of the APR cat, to the centre section of the exhaust system, and it all fits very nicely

When I went with the IHI, I did away with the resonated centre section and bought Milltek`s unresonated centre pipe.

The Jabba DP and Cat are 3" dia -the Milltek system is 2"3/4 - the Milltek centre section was cut and sleeved to fit.

Modding is more difficult to do when you try to do it `bit by bit`so to speak, especially with big projects like an IHI conversion.

I know it can be frustrating when working to a tight budget. The temptation is to buy a part here and there - company A`s DP, company B`s manifold, company C`s intercooler etc, - and feel you are progressing, but in truth that path can lead to difficulties when you finally come to the point where you want all your assembled bits to perform in unison.

These `Big turbo` conversions are pretty much `bespoke` efforts born from the `hands on` experience of the guys who are doing the business on a daily basis - they are a lot more than the sum of a kit of parts, and they rarely respond to the notion of a fixed budget!!

Jabba`s downpipe is an example of `hands on` experience - I suppose there were many sleepless nights and skint fingers before they got it work right, so perhaps they are entitled to want to protect the hard won proceeds of their efforts.

Just buy Jabba`s DP and cat and have the exhaust mid section, cut and fitted to suit - simple?:)

just to agree with john..
mike wasnt happy with the leons ecu. so they got another one.
they then couldnt get the ecu to talk to the dash clocks.
so they got a different set of clocks. several calls to spain later all was well. it was a very bespoke conversion!

issues can come from angles you could never predict

that said you will have an awesome car in the end;)

I'd never actually considered it to be an option - so not gonna throw it in themix now.

Just actually had word from Elton at Jabba - they are developing a 2.75" Mk4 IHI system with Miltek will reduce the cost of the individual items from £900+ (IHI DP, Sports cat and Miltek exhasut) to £495 inc. Nice. Currently only available on the Octavia.

and Jetex already have one in 2.75"

Can't find that anywhere on the Jetex site or their catalogue Bill. Anyone point me in the right direction so I can have a look at it?

Cheers
