Total newbie needing help...

Just got my cable n Vag-com setup..

If i hit test i get the following:

interface: found
type: serial pass-thru
opto/iso: no
Ross-Tech design: no

anywhere after that it seems it isn't connecting.

I can hit auto-scan but it just seems to run through it all and not be able to connect. am i doing something stupid?

firewall or virusguard or something?

Any hints or tips greatly appreciated.

what software version should i use?

should i use my USB 2.0 to RS232 convertor and see if it makes a diference?

I managed to get it to come up with opto/iso: yes on my desktop PC lastnight thru my USB 2.0 - RS232 connector.

Yet it wouldn't work on the laptop... God this is annoying!

i had the same problems with the usb cable on my laptop

Found a really old laptop though and worked fine with a serial cable on there.. No use though sorry

using use to serial converter, will connect issue, such as you cant connect to some modules on the due to baud rate.
either use a full usb cable or full serial cable.
