While chaning th rear discs I had the brake fluid cap off. Dropped the cap down the back and took off the intercooler pipe join to get to it.

Once I broke the join I notice traces of oil in the intercooler pipe, I presume this isnt normal or is a slight trace of oil ok?

Car is an Ibiza FR TDi 130 on 32k

its complelty normal, don;t worry about it. Only way to stop it is to fit an oil catch tank, but not really needed.

if it gets too much it can end up affecting the intercooler efficiiency, but as i said nothing to worry about and is complelty normal.

When i had mine remapped the guy said I had a little oil in my intercooler and the pipe was pretty dirty. He told me this was quite normal

Ok thanks guys. Thought it would be ok seeing as everything else on the car is ok and it was just a bit in the lip of the join on the pipework and pipe felt oily inside
