PETERBOROUGH
hi,

just after a little advice from anyone whos done a track day.

thinking of doing a track day taster session (30 mins) at rockingham. ive done loads of driving experiences over the years so I have some knowledge of circuit driving.

I just wanna do one in my car now.

any tips from you folks.

my cars standard apart from being lowered 40mm on h&r springs.

obviously not gonna go in too lairy but will the fr handle a little abuse?

cheers.

I'm hopefully booked on a session on 20th Sept at Rockingham but my cars a lot more set up.

Good tyres and brakes it will be fine

That's the date I'm hoping to get. Just waiting on work to get back with my holiday form. Then gonna get on to rockingham to get booked up hopefully.

Yeah the tyres have plenty of meat on them and my front brakes are probably 50% worn.

Do a spanner check on the car all over, make sure you're all done up right. Good brakes and good tyres should be OK. A full tank with a spare jerry can full is advised (although probably unlikely on a 30 min taster)

Best advice (all be it from rallying) keep awareness of cars around you and use your mirrors!!! Don't try and race anything especially on the first few laps whilst you're still finding grip/lines and make all your moves as predictable as possible for faster cars around you.

Otherwise enjoy throwing the car about.

I can't wait till I try my first track day.

Looks like fun buddy.

It was mate. Bit nervous at first with it being my everyday car and for the rain the grip was shocking. Managed to give it some but pulling out of corners was a nightmare. ESP was on overtime. Lol

Rockingham is great ... first corner hitting 130mph then turning in, 2nd corner 125ish heavy breaking into the almost hairpin..
