can anyone tell me without me RTFM'ing if i can turn ESP on, on my tdi 1.9 100bhp se?

it's worrying easy to wheelspin it in 1st gear as i hit 2,000, in the wet....but im on almost legal depth champiro as-bought tyres.

i have a 130 sport and when i wheel spin the light flashes on but not a lot else happens is this normal or is mine not working fully

when you say you wheel spin, do you mean 'while on the move' or when pulling away from being stationary?
as it will only work over 10-15 mph i believe. (if it worked at 1 mph you may stall and also is more dangerous).

most people say tcs cuts in too abruptly. (however this depends how much your spinning.
esp is better i think but certainly noticable.

so if yours is flashing on the move and you are not sure if its working, then perhaps there is a problem. i cant see why it would operate but not work though. would have thought if there was a fault it would be lite permanently.

TCS cuts power. IF you have TCS there should be a button by the handbrake.

on golf,bora ,jetta and passat light flashing on dash is showing you that its working it limits wheel spin but if you keep foot to the floor(spinning wheels hard) it will cut the power to stop the wheel spinning

My Passat not only has a flashing light, but a quiet "you're driving like a twat" beeper when the ESP kicks in

i pickup my 17"ers + yokohama tyres tomorrow morning so wheelskidding should be less of an issue
