I have a 2004 LCR 225 .. I got some new suspension mounts and a coil spring to pass my MOT last Friday  and the guy at the garage advised me I needed a new tyre at the front and my tracking done .. So on Saturday off I went to National Tyres to get them!

However .. I dont think the guy has done my tracking right as the little red marker line thingy at the top of my steering wheel is pointing towards the passenger side of my car when my wheels are straight .. I always assume this is supposed to be directly in the middle when wheels are straight...

Anyway, yeah i was driving home from the boyfriends house on Monday night (first time id properly drove my car since going home from National Tyres on saturday) and my traction control light lit up on my dashboard ... Very random ... Roads werent wet or slippy and I hadnt pressed my ESP button to turn my traction control off. And to be honest I never have since I bought the car in 2009!

I got home and turned my car off and back on and the light was still on. I pressed my ESP button and it didnt do anything. :(

Im mega confused as to why its randomly come on. I took it back to the garage I got my tyre and tracking done at, they looked at it and said they didnt know what was wrong. He also said between now and 2 weeks my steering wheel will be back straight with the red marker in the middle .. i think thats bullsh*t .. Am I right?

So can anyone help me out? I know I should Vagcom my car to see if it brings up any fault with my traction control but I wont be able to do that til the weekend .. So if anyone has any ideas for now I would appreciate the help :)

If I seem a bit thick .. Sorry haha .. Im a girl and I get confused with car stuff sometimes!

Yeah I read it could be a MAF problem too.

The guys at my work have some kinda diagnostic thing for our trucks, vans and company cars .. they scanned my car but nothing come up on their software.

I'll be getting the laptop out and Vagcom'n it in the morning :)

Best bet is vag com, I really dislike all universal code readers, Even the snap-on stuff, used it numerous times and the amount of 'false' data they can give off is laughable.

Yeah I usually dont use anything other than Vagcom but whilst im stuck working all week and not able to use it till tomorrow, the mechanics said they would put it on their Texa? software and see if it brings anything up.

Hopefully I should have it sorted tomorrow by the garage making my steering wheel and wheels straight like they should be or I will find a fault :)

Thanks for your help :D
