traking?

does anyone know if my mk1 should be toeing in or out, and by what a degree i checked it today due to not handling too well and i found it was toeing in "30 mins" if this means anything?

Funnily enough, I just had mine in today for this doing.

Was just not feeling "right" into corners, and I had ruled out tyre pressures, worn bushes or anything loose (although I did spot a split CV gaiter whilst I was under there!)

Took it to my local (trusted) Kwik-Fit, and the tracking was quite a bit out.

They used one of the 4-wheel laser alignment thingies.

Apparently, it was toe-ing in at 4. It should only be toe-ing in at 1 !!

Although, I don't know how this 1-10 scale translates into degrees and minutes (60 minutes in a degree, so yours is half a degree to-in at the moment)

A quick twiddle with the alignment, and it does seem to be handling like it used to.....

cheers buddy, did your motor squeel when on full lock at slow speeds?

Hmmm. No, I don't think it did.

Although I do seem to remember it being said (Don't know where) that the squealing at low speeds around corners is a possoble symptom of the tracking being out.

now sortedif i remember right, it now toe's in by 1.25, it feels tighter and i can throw it around a lot more, even it the wet, it feels to bite in the corners, still going to fit front and rear ARB's though

when i took it to the local garage, he checked it with the laser's, it took about 15 mins to do and i watched the bloke do it,smart git! fancy things those laser alignment thingybobs

will a "VW PASSAT AUDI A4 EIBACH FRONT UPRATED ANTI ROLL BAR" fit my mk1
