for the first time ever this thread is actually making me think the S3 is not that expensive

take a Leon Cupra : £19500 for the sake of argument
Now if you could add:

Haldex: £1500
bi-xenons: £900
leather: £900
heated seats: £300

you can't put a price as such on the slightly different intercooler and whatever the bit on the turbo is, so I wont add 'owt to the price for that.

Spec for spec, this puts the Cupra at £23.2k (if you could add that kit obviously). The S3 is only £26900ish, so £3700 more for some 'perceived' badge value and slightly plusher finish internally. Put in those terms its not actually hideously expensive. R32's are the expensive one in my eyes.

However, I'd stick with the Cupra and get it soundproofed - sod the BM.

as for the original question; i reckon youd be looking at around 15k. why, you loose your vat (£3500) straight away, then another £1500 - £2000 for re-seller margin.

Trust me, you trade up brand and very often its not all its cracked up to be. There are many days where I'd have my LCR back with no questions at all.

Precisely why i have resisted the urge to chop in my fr tdi and get a s3/gti/cupra/st/bmw or whatever...Unless i start spending lots of ££££ the Leon (especially once modded) offers a lot of bang per buck even with all its problems.

Lovely race , i think they missed a gap in the market by not having a leather upgrade from the factory.

Parkers reckon for a 2007 07 Cupra £15,790 although if it's a 57 reg you could probably add £500 onto that.

The best was to get an accurate quote is pay the £3 for the offical glasses guide quote.

I found Parkers to overvalue when I part ex'd my last car.
