Various. Xenon ignitors, motors (left and right), autoleveler seizing, some switch inside the unit. My old car had several replacement headlights under the warranty and I know of a few other Pre Facelift cars with the same issues mine did.

The mirrors had issues retracting/folding.

Not seen anything or heard any of those issues on a facelift. Yet.

Yip. Not seen or hear of facelift cars suffering this yet. Hopefully the got rid of those issues on the facelift.

When I do buy one if it is the pre facelift model I'll be making sure that all these problems have been fixed or even if they've happened yet. I'm just glad I've asked all these questions lol.

Not changing subject or anything but... Just bought a 58plate cupra, what gains would I expect from a remap and where's best to go.... oh and how much £££££.

You'll see about 70bhp claimed, taking you anywhere between 300 and 320bhp depending on who's Dyno you believe.

It'll cost about £500-600 for Revo, APR or GIAC.

A stage 1 map is bread and butter for most resellers unless you run in the hardware issues. Where are you based?

Jesus Christ that's impressive having come from a corsa vxr to the cupra then.

I'm based in Grimsby but willing to drive a good distance for a good remap!

Cheers for the info!

Staying local is usually best in case of issues, provided there is a good quality dealer around. Not sure of any out that way.

If Sheffield isn't too far then Statller are a good option. They do Revo and GIAC code. Awesome do APR, but are Manchester way, so a bit further.

These engines tune very well. How many miles has your car done? Obviously increase in BHP goes hand in hand with torque increases. You'll see about 300lbs+ so be aware your clutch might not thank you if you're high mileage.

Picked up my 2007 (07) Cupra last week. Love it. Feel's great to be back in a Leon.

61k on the clock. Had FSH and the recall items (coilpack and a couple of other bits) had all been done. Cost me £7000 in a private buy. Cambelt hasn't been done though was inspected at 60k by dealer and not recommended for change.

Already fitted the arm rest :D

Anything else I need to keep an eye on?

He's provided the dealer note that says cambelt was inspected and not recommended for change - should I be getting it done anyway?

Yup. Cheaper than the repair bill if it snaps and you'd still need the new belt then too.

Cool, I'll get it booked in then.

Love it, used to have a 2004 FR TDI, swapped it for a 123d BMW but missed the Leon. So happy I went for a petrol over diesel :)

Inspecting a belt is just someone's opinion that it looks ok but that's just visual. Also the tensioner and idler bearings can't be checked in place.
I replaced the belt on my last FR at 36k and the belt looked like new but the tensioner was noisy as hell.
Don't take any chances and at 61k make sure you put a genuine belt kit and water pump on for total peace of mind.

Water pump as well?

Seat want £299 for the belt but I assume this is without the waterpump.

Yeah a water pump is only £30 plus 15 mins labour once the belts off.
It's upto you but it's normal practice for most of us.
