Trying to get new key fob working....

Is there anyone who can translate this to step by step instructions as I just can't get my new key fob to open and close doors remotely.....

I have just received my new key fob, from seat, as when I bought the car it only came with one key.
The new key is coded to the immobiliser using my VIN, so the car starts ok...

I can lock and unlock manually but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to synchronise the new fob to the car.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... It's a 2014 Se...

To me it reads:
Press the unlock button on the key.
Within 1 minute unlock the drivers door using the key manually. You will have to remove the little cover that hides the key slot in the door handle.

Yes I think I will because I don't think the coding is done correctly for starting the car either.

Sometimes it starts, and sometimes it won't, saying immobiliser active and then I get a gearbox error pop up.....on the dash.

Then I just can't start the car with this key at all, until I clear the code using obd11... Somethings not right... And this is a genuine key fob.....

Haha, I wondered how long it would take for someone to suggest that.....

Next time il make sure it has two working keys....

My bank balance would definitely suggest I didn't....

Back when I got my red FR it had one key as they couldn't find the other. Took so much nagging for them to replace it and recode it. Fairly costly exercise for them I think.

Didn't disable the immobiliser

Told me to apply foot brake. But I had. As you can see no green footbrake light on the dash.

And then this gearbox warning light pops up.

That's it cars dead....... With this key.

I have reset all fault codes using obd11, and now off to seat to have them take a look at it.

At least I won't have to pay for all this as it was part of the deal when I bought the car..

EDIT: Booked in for next Tuesday at a cost of £53.16 new pence....

Works fine though. Sounds like there's an issue with the coding. Hope they get it sorted

Like I mentioned earlier, I did clear the codes that the key kicked up, but I am gonna use the key again in the Seat dealership car park to bring those errors and codes back up again, just so the dealership can start from a totally non-working key...

Do you know if the dealership can redo the coding for the key or do you reckon I'll have to wait for another key to come from seat.?

You are putting your foot on brake pedal when it says 'apply brake's and not just putting the handbrake on aren't you?

You car thob can not be set to your engines ecu or your DSG gearbox plain and simple

My car went in for warranty work and for what ever reason my spare key when I tried it needed recoding.

It works off the ecu and the DSG box if you have one. So even if that car key is coded which to me tells me it's not. It won't work unless it gets coded to the DSG box as well

Ok. Is this something that seat can do at the dealership. As I'm going in tomorrow morning to have it done.
