grateful for any help.

If you follow the pipe from your airbox down the back of the engine, you will find the compressor side of your turbo.

If you look down the back and spot your exhaust downpipe, the turbine side of the turbo is the next item 'up & round'.

thanks man.. the airbox pipe is that big pipe with audi logo on it i take it, the big thing. useless with cars.

is it possible the turbo hose/pipe whatever could come loose under the bonnet? and could i tighten it up myself if this was the case? (or i could get a mate who was a mechanic)

the turbo kicks in very late, and much softer than before and seems to work even less when in 2nd/3rd gear (or could be at lower speed - nothing to do with gear). i know i need a vagcom but that isnt a option just now.

any opinions? cheers.

The pipe from the airbox to the turbo is held on with jubilee clips so you should be able to tighten it.
You could allways put up a request for someone in your area who's got Vag Com thay'll probley help you out in return for a few bears ;)
