chrome look or something similar would probably turn blue from all the heat...

Chrome probably wouldn't (doesn't on bike exhausts) but stainless might got that loverly tan/brown colour...

I hadn't really though that far in advance!

But with p&p both ways, plus a bit of my time (£30/40?) and a few materials (not much) it would soon add up to not far off the A&M one - which is why I mentioned about doing it on exchange.

I could probably get it chromed for you, unless you wanted to specifically pick the chrome and guy to do it.

Mind you. We haven't got to do postage two ways - if I picked the spare up from a dealer (but then I've got to go out to get it which is more of my time...)

If I was doing more than one, it would take me a bit less time so I could drop the "cost" a bit.

To be honest guys, if you want bling do the A&M ting

£85 for a new pipe (need a spare unless you can take the car off the road for a couple of weeks), £30/40 for my time, £? for the chrome (£20?, £30?) p&p, you're in the same ballpark as getting A&M to craft you one, then all you have to do is polish it up. Makes sense to me.

by using the original one and welding it up then chroming will be cheaper for sure,
removing the dump valve pipe adapter aswel as its not the best place for it to vent excess boost

didnt say i was gonna sell em , i think people should do a bit themselvs and save alot of money, feel how much do you think it cost you to do yours? this price + a welding fee cos not everyone welds, then chrome or spray it, this must be a very reasonable price i would think, maybe a grour chroming?

Im a qualified welder, but i have no equipment so i cant do it, and the last time i hired somthing it was defective and they tried to blame me (the fact i hadnt even left the car park was a bit of a give away i though)

The replacement that A&M are talking about offering isn't the same as taking of the standard pipe removing the silencer, then welding in an insert. They are talking about making an aluminium replacement pipe - it's not the same thing.

It cost me nothing to do, but then I didn't charge myself for my own time or materials...

At the end of the day, Rick, if YOU think £150 (which was only a guide price in the first place) is too much money "for a bit of pipe" then don't pay it. Simple as that.

Also, don't deride the guys from A&M for offering to the pipe, some of the members on here asked them if they would do it.

One thing to Add, Me nor Adam own a LCR So there is no Personal Drive for us to do this (unlike the Ibiza) So if we cant make a couple of quid whats the point for us?
