Ive just tried to set mine up today, Ran up and down the road constantly stopping to tune the valve, but my vag-com showed up a fault code without fail that there was pressure drop between the throttle valve and turbo:( it didnt go into limp mode every time, but there was a code without fail.

I must have tried every adjustment on it before i gave up!

Any clues??

To be honest I just put it on the car, turned it all the way to the tightest setting, loosened it about 2 1/2 turns (to set it softer) then started the engine. No faults and sounded great straight away. I did tighten it slightly (probably half a turn) but that's it.

Have you fitted it the right way? I.e. with the dial horizontal to the ground and the trumpet pointing upwards? Just a thought.

Yeah, tried it throughout tbh mate. Will try it exactly as you have just said mate to see if theres a difference though.

Its fitted correctly too yes, its on a custom coldside relocation.

Have you looked at vag-com at all? Not sure if mine went into limp every time, but definitely registered a pressure drop.

Yup, haven't got VAG com but a mate of mine has some identical software and no error codes at all, with the car working perfectly and performance slightly better. Might be something to do with the cold side relocation perhaps?

Just went out and wound it like yours mate, no joy:(

How does yours sound?? Mine makes a flutter sound(deffo the dv), no matter where it is set. only a real whoosh if it hits high boost. It hits limp every time without fail no matter where its set.

shouldnt really be the cold side, have stage 2 APR, FMIC, n249 bypass and 3-inch turbo intake though, dont know if these alters anything??wouldnt have thought it should.

As soon as i put my 007p with yellow spring back on all is well again!:(

Very strange. Where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking? I got mine from eclipse racing as recommended by Gaz further up the page, nothing but praise for them, great service and very quick. I'm thinking the valve might be faulty, a try and get a new one?

Since I've bypassed the N249, I get a tiny bit of chatter on light boost, but a nice dump sound with anything else i.e. more sound with more boost.

Have you tried winding it to it's softest setting, then starting the car and adjusting it to suit? I've just checked mine and if you set it too soft the car idles rough and stalls, that's a good starting point.

mine will stall if you set it lighter than the lightest limit, but thats all. Ive taken it to bits, nothing to go wrong, piston, spring and valve!

Got it from the same mate.

i dont mean this to be offensive but is it defo fitted the right way. mine chatters at low revs a little but thats when im not putting my foot down.

^ exactly the same, I officially have a squirrel under the bonnet, specially after I removed the bonnet liner! I really don't understand how it can be that bad, have you tried blanking the trumpet and using it in fully recirc mode??
