Turning off interior alarm

What about folding the mirrors? The manual shows a physical button. If I push the button twice to deactivate the interior sensors are the doors still protected?

I tried this now but I'm wondering why the lamp doesn't flash when I turn the interior sensors off!? It's should still flash to warn that the alarm (doors) is active.
