Recently swapped my VW Bora 130 TDI for a 06 Leon Sport 2.0 TDI.
Over three years I regularly got 55-60mpg per tank fill with the VW. The first two tank fills with the Leon (over similar journies) achieved only 50mpg. Is this typical? Example:
Recently I travelled from Newcastle to Huddersfield (A19/A1/M62) a total of 120 miles and the onboard computer showed 50mpg average. The return journey (same route but with much more stop/start driving) returned 55mpg. My VW would have returned 58-60mpg for both.
I have heard that an engine re-map not only increases power but also can increase MPG. Does any body advise the £329 charge as worthwhile?
