How dangerous is it to work near airbag cables?
I don't want to have one ignited in my hands

The codes for the boxes are the same for left-wheel car, I suppose, aren't they?

As long as you disconect the battery and wait at least 10 minutes you will be safe with the airbags.

I did mine without unplugging the airbags - there is enough wire to tilt the seat up enough to fit the boxes. The holes are all pre drilled so you are only inserting 4 screws.

I would guess that left and right hand drive seats are the same so the boxes will be the same

Sweet.

The fitting cost on stealers are 30€ for each box....

Thanks

Has anyone tried to fit the passenger side storage box (UK car) to a car with stop-start?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that this was not possible and indeed my 1.2 TSI start-stop has a black control box under the passenger seat on the floor which might well collide with a storage box.

Just measured under mine. with the seat in it's lowest position there is 35mm clearance to the floor from the bottom of the storage box.

Ah, so that's what the little black control box is for! :)

I'm only guessing this is the start-stop box.

I've found the info. I remembered reading. In the German sales info. it says (roughly):-

"On cars with start-stop system, storage box only under driver's seat."

Which of course on a UK car is the passenger seat.

On the other hand DEANO quotes a 35 mm clearance which should be enough I'd have thought, though I need to measure the control box height. With seat slid back he control box is, however, very near the seat front edge.

Puzzling - let's see if anyone replying has both storage boxes and start-stop system!

Just spoken to David at Sere motors, this has proved such a popular mod it has caught Seat UK out and they have no stock left. Looks like I have a little wait before I get mine....lol
