Hmmmm do you really think i need one? I've been running it without for the last thre months but recently starting noticing light steering from 90mph onwards, thought it might be down to this but it could be something else??
id recommend fittin gone, im sure someone had an issue on where with water who was running without an undertray.
the undertray is a large piece of plastic that sits under your engine. it starts at the end of the front bumper and finishes just past the front wheels.
to drain the oil it gets removed and lots of garage break them or dont put them back.
you will need over £100 to replace one!

Directly under the engine there is a plastic tray attached to the underside of the front bumper and goes back roughly as far as the engine does, just think it stops stuff from splashing up on to the engine?
Don't know about the downforce stuff but in my view they just give a little extra protection and it may be enough to glance the odd stray bit of rock or metal from damaging the sump causing you to drop your oil on the motorway at 70 mph. I guess that it deflects some water away too, although I would have thought that is a lesser issue
In my view, even at standard prices (a tanks worth of fuel for both side pieces and the centre section, or less than half a tanks worth for the centre section only) it's worth it.

Can any one remember that site (i've had a search but cant seem to find it) what sold aluminiun under trays?? would cost a bit more i know but would provide 1000% more protection and it would never break??
id advise refitting one, the timing belt among other things is a bit exposed without it.
as for the aluminium one, unless this gets fitted in a better way this could get damaged easily too. the actual standard undertray is pretty strong, its where it gets attached to the car thats weak.
