Dealer has just phoned today (after firstly having to phone them again) to say the car is confirmed built (apparently week 17!!!) so 2.5 weeks ago, his words.

All that is required is it shipping over, hopefully they are chasing it up further tomorrow to get an idea of dates etc.

I think it's a case of it will turn up when it does, as I have just about lost all my faith now.

It will be worth the wait, stressing wont make it arrive any sooner, but when you get that call to say your car is here is a great feeling, and when you see candy in the tin you will have a grin like a cheshire cat, i promise you its worth the wait, picking mine up tomorrow, cant wait.

Congrat's mate, hope it has everything you wanted.

My problem is I was gonna PX the old car, but then a bloke from work wanted to but it, he is having it, and is ok waiting for when the new one arrives he say's. But he has the money now sitting in his bank account, and if that were me, I would be looking at what else I could get for my money. If you know what I mean. Can't ask him for a deposit either, when I don't know how long it will be before new one turns up.

Dealers never really seem to know whats going on, mine doesnt seem to give a damn either. I am not patient at all but I am trying to put it out of my mind as much as poss, am not sleeping either

it sounds as though everything (including your dealer!) is against you. if youve just missed the candy white batch through the spray booth, then just missed the boat to Blighty (i dont know how many cars seat sell in the uk, but i regularly see nissans car transporter boats sailing up the tyne, and believe me you can get a fair few cars aboard, and so could take a while to fill - not literally, but with orders/stock).
i guess its the open endedness of it all, it is for me anyway. if you had a date, even quite far off, then at least you could tick the days off until then. i was told to expect 16 weeks!! :(
dont give the dealership the pleasure of servicing your car. We all know its a rip off, so at least part with your hard earned cash with someone you dont loathe in the first place.
not sleeping? try watching the snooker before you go to bed!

You are right Chris about not getting the car serviced at the dealership. i have had the same problem with my Smart forfour Brabus, the service dept at the Mercedes dealership in Hertford suck big time, so I have been taking the dealer to a specialist in Ware whose service is amazing, I would rather give them my money, plus it doesnt void my warranty and is about 30% cheaper than the dealer. I will do the same for my Leon FR.

Fresh Update!!!

The car has been shipped over apparently and the Dealer is going to call the car off for the transporter to get it to them for hopefully next weekend.

Now the bad new's. There is a chance that the car wasn't built with a Sunroof, he is going to chase this matter up on Monday and get back to me.

Hopefully it's just been human error and the full spec hasn't been entered correctly onto the system.

is the catalogue of errors getting longer?

Your dealer will have entered the order on the computer, so it should match that?

It is a comedy of errors Rich, but you won't miss it in my opinion

I nearly went for the sunroof, but I had reservations mainly because they can leak.

Easiest way not to have a leaky roof is not to cut a big hole in it.

Your not kidding there getting longer.

Yes, he has checked and chaecked again that he had ordered the Sunroof (it is clearly stated on the order form I was given, but then again so was the Winter Pack, which is another story) and said he has known this before, but vary rarely, that when the car finally turned up, it was as spec'd.

Maybe, but I have now set my heart on it. I miss a sunroof TBH, if I could of had the option of no Air Con, I would of probably taken that lol.

He said, if it was the case of no sunroof being fitted, then there would be three options;

1) To take the car with no sunroof
2) He would have a sunroof retro fitted NO WAY HOSAY
3) Car would have to be reordered.

Hope it all works out Rich, not good, will sour the whole deal then wont it.

I wil be gutted if they mess anything up on mine but my only extras are the ipod and the 18's. Would love a sunroof but for me its just something to go wrong and to leak :)

Well, I can only wait and see.

Suppose I ordered that much, that there was too much chance of something going wrong.

LOL, by the time it turns up, white will of gone out of fashion again

i hope not, as thats the colour ive ordered - with the sunroof too!!!

surely they should be able to tell you one way or another what its loaded with before they actually see it. it shouldnt have been shipped if its not as ordered, so if it hasnt got the sunroof i'm guessing your dealer :)w4nk:) is at fault.

Not sure mate, He is adamant it was ordered. He is going to chase it up on Monday, this was the earliest time he could do it.

My gut feeling is, it's going to turn up without it. I just hope I'm wrong.
