Well folks had the car into the stealers for "warranty". Which was about as much use as a chocolate teapot! So in the end i got charged for the diagnostic as my car is not standard lol.

Here's the VAGCOM fault code result.
I would just like to add i am not taking the car in for them to do the job. But i am looking for any advice for where this sensor is located and how easy a job it is? As they were annoyingly very vague about it. Eeven after me repeating myself a few times.

Here we go:

1 Malfunction detected

0552 P1592 006
Altitude sensor signal/air pressure sensor
Implausible ratio
Intermittent

Measured values

0 mg/H
1012 mbar
1124 mbar
0 %

These are the parts that they say is needed

Quote " Checked for glowplug warning light on. Carried out guided fault finding. Found car to require wiring loom for sensor G31/G42, map sensor. Car also requires all earth points cleaned and engine ECU software update to rectify fault. (ECU HAS been modified)
£227inc VHC "

First of all i can't have an ecu update as then my car will try and regenerate when there is no dpf to regenerate with. I doubt that is a necessity. As all i have ever done with exhaust sensors is replace the part and delete the fault on the diagnostic.

As has been said before does anyone know of this fault? How hard is it to change the "wiring loom for sensor G31/G42"????

Cheers folks would really appreciate as much input as possible please.

£37.50 mate. If i knew they were gonna charge me i wouldnt have got it done but i thought my warranty may have covered it lol....
I had a sporadic flashing glow plug on my PD170, a new wiring loom to G42 (i think) sorted it.

Sounds very similair. Apparantly a common problem??? Do you know where this wiring room is located?

Who did the diagnostic for you? If alexandra parade, they are dicks and charge for everything!

Was phoenix linwood mate. Had a good rant lol:whistle:

i actually never had a problem with them tbh. Even though my suspension was modified on my old mk4 ibiza, they still did LOADS of suspension work, although they did mention every time in their report that aftermarket kit had been fitted. Woman called jean in there can be a nippy sweety lol, i've been there so many times they know me now! Hope you prob get sorted soon...

sounds like the boost sensore

duno if its located on the intercooler or if the Altitude sensor is an integral part of the ECU

do you feel as tho you hav lost a bit of power ?

Dont think its common mate not heard of it before, Sounds like a ball ache though

My warranty runs out in under a month now
