I followed the instructions from here https://here.navigation.com/europe/

Which took me to here https://goo.gl/dYZuXc identifying my system as Navi System - 6P0

And then from this page https://goo.gl/6CJmjN downloaded Navi System 6P0(0730) - EU1

Finally following the instructions from here https://goo.gl/6rLQWY

But it has failed to work, even copying back the original maps to the sd card has failed.

This is the card i have

These are the screen messages i get

As i followed the instructions thoroughly i'm scratching my head as to why it has failed both to update to the new maps, and go back to the original maps.

The only thing i can think of is a bad instruction stating to format the card, as this could erase any manufacturer mark needed perhaps?

Any advice on how to rectify this would be most appreciated, it is a motability vehicle and my wife is none to impressed with me messing with something that wasn't broken!

I had this issue - but I took a couple of backups of the original SD card first. Apparently it’s because the new files aren’t licensed for that card (what Seat told me).

Though - copying the original files back worked for me without formatting or fettling

When the updated maps didn't work, i reformatted the card and put back the original files just by copy and pasting them back, but i get the same error message as i did with the updated maps.
Wonder if it would make a difference putting them back via the 7-zip programme.... i can but try. ty

You've missed a step out!

Hopefully, you took a backup of all the files that were on the SD card before you formatted it. All you then need to do is format the SD card, copy the new downloaded files to the SD card, and then copy OVERALL.NDS from your backup to the same location on the SD card (maps/EEC/EEC_WLD). You will be prompted to overwrite. Make sure the 'maps' folder is at the root of the SD card.

Thanks, I don't see this step mentioned but will certainly try this and let you know if it works. One thing, your last sentence about the 'maps' folder, i named mine updated maps, is that ok or should i rename to maps once on the sd card?

The root folder needs to be named 'maps'. Make sure that when you go into the 'maps' folder, that you can see a further two folders called '00' and 'EEC'.

The instructions you've followed are if you've purchased SEAT's MapCare, which gives you free map updates. It's not available in the UK and you'd need to go to the SEAT dealer and buy a new SD card each time, at a crazy price.

Replacing the OVERALL.NDS file is an 'unofficial' workaround. Search on this forum for 'Navigation System Updates'. Lots to read, but worth it.

Just followed the steps in my original post but then added what SteveGSXR600K1 said

Where did you get the 0820 download from? I can only find 0730

Strangely the 0730 you see is the one i downloaded, but it shows as 0820 on the system afterwards, so guessing they recently updated the files but forgot to change the header to 0820.

I am guessing this will only work for people with newer cars, ie mapcare? My 63 plate is running v4 and would love to update, but I fear it will be a dealer expensive visit

The above steps are if you haven't got MapCare.
Oh, ok. I guess as long as I get a backup, I can revert to the old one should it not work. Mines the 5FO if that makes any difference

Sorry, I read a thread and thought there was no way for me to update my map. Pleased to say I read wrongly

Search on this forum for 'Navigation System Updates' and read the post through. I think you will have the MIB1 system, which doesn't seem easy/possible to update.
