Upgrade wheels - correct offset?

Hi everyone, bought a Altea 2.0 tdi dsg and want to upgrade to slightly better looking wheels. Have seen some for sale being described as VW/Audi/Seat fitment but don't know if they will go straight on?
The exact specification is:
7j x 17 PCD 5x100 centrebore 73.06 with spiggot rings reducing to 57.1 Offset ET35

what are spiggot rings?

I don't know if these will ruin the ride of the car as the car currently has 16 inch wheels and i thought 17 as oppossed to 18 would be a better compromise of asthetics and ride?

Any advise appreciated. I will be looking to add FR bumpers and a few extra mods over the coming months and whatever advise I can get from you guys will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Offset will be the lesser of the problems, 99% sure your car will have a PCD of 5x112 and not 5x100 so they won't fit anyway.

Standard Seat Altea TDI Sport rims are: 7Jx17 ET54

Standard Seat Sport BBS rims are 7.5Jx18 ET51

PCD is 5x112

aftermarket rims should be within these dimesions. 17" or 18" no more than 8" wide and no less than an offset of ET45 if the wheel is only 7" wide you might get away with ET35.

Yeah but the pcd is not 112 - so that means they won't fit...right?
