I want to upgrade the brakes on my FR when i have my remapp done,

i know most people go for a TT 312 upgrade, but i want to keep my warrenty

so how much are the seat sport brakes that come on the cupras?

Anyone help me out

£1000 + for the Seat Sport AP Racing ones, then new wheels and tyres to be able to fit the buggars under!

Go 312mm and get better pads and discs, plenty good enough up to 225BHP, the Audi TT and S3 use these, as do I, no problems on warrenty either!

They'll most likely go, ah, nice big brakes!

Keep old ones for warranty job!

Having uprated brakes will only invalidate your warranty on the bits youve changed. However, you will probably get a manfacuturers/fitters warranty for at least a year (see Nationwide). However, your not worried about your warranty when you get a remap?

Ive got 280 mm Black Diamond brake discs with Mintex pads - bloody powerful - cant fault them. Looking at around £120 (excl fitting) for the grooved and drilled ones (i have just grooved = £110), and then £70 for the pads (inc. fitting on the pads).

still running standard calipers?

i can't decide what to do with breaks i'm thinking just going 312mm's with some nice disks and pads but at the same time pretty soon i hope to be running 250bhp and i'm not sure if i should just put the money towards some brembo's or similar

do for the brembo's you know you wont regret it dont do things by half 312's arent really for showing off but i must admit they are good enough for 250bhp imo but i personally would go brembo

a revo remap from my dealer wont invalidate warenty ;)

can you get brembos to fit behind the standard FR Wheels?

Agree with rashcupra, If you can find some brembos i really recommend them as well. they are the best mod on the car, even over the remap. And no its not cause they are red ;).
Absolutely awesome stopping power BUT they do cost.... paid about 900 inc fitting for mine (they are Mk1 Leon Cupra R versions), i use ferrodo DS2500 pads....getting good wear rate on them..... just be resigned to BLACK wheels 5 seconds after youve washed the car :D

And on a side note i upgraded to the cupra wheels to be able to fit em

hmmm, cupra wheels are a bit pricy tho.....

Still need to do a bit of debt management i think.

I'd love some brembos but 900 seems a lot.

Going off topic a bit but it saves me starting another thread, ive read a lot of people rate spacers as a good handling mod, but ive also heard that it damage your suspension in some way is this the case.

Go for the 312mm tt setup with cross drilled and grooved discs........ ive never had so much stopping power since I fitted mine.

Bought mine 2nd hand from a guy on the forum for £200 plus p&p 2nd hand. You can get the whole audi tt set up with standard discs for £250.

No they are from a guy called golfturbo.com, they are taken off audi tts before they are sold apparently.

312mm are far than enough any more power stopping wise andi think the back end would become very unstable. i have to say one of the best mods i did was the 312mm, and after 6 months abuse the pads still had 3/4 left and disks didnt even have a lip!
