Since lowering my car on Weitech springs & shocks, i've gone through two sets of anti roll bars at the front, the lower suspension just seems to put too much strain on the bolts holding them on to the point where they get so loose they knock, and the bolts just don't bite when trying to tighten them up.

For this reason i'm looking at uprated ones. Are any available, and if so could they help solve my issue?

Also, I'm considering going down the route of TT brakes and a Remap now that my warranty is over, and i'm curious as to where people usually source their brake's from?

Brand new from dealership or second hand?

If going to a dealership - is there a list a part numbers of the different bits needed to complete the upgrade?

*winces, as there is probably a sticky containing this info somewhere* :p

TT brakes, get them from golfturbo.com

where abouts are you based, P-Torque near Wolverhampton are good for remaps and they are very nicely priced ;)

Hi mate i just got some weitech coilovers and i'm sure i'm having the same problem when i pull away its like one big knock then when i put the clutch down again it does it again then when i floor it again it does it again i would love to know whats causing it i was going to hold off untill the car goes back to jabba on the 13th august and get them to have a look at it because i don't have a clue whats making the noise

get someone to dry steer your car outside your house, and put your head right near the wheelwell - you should hear it knocking like crazy

i'm going to do that now you have said it see what it sounds like haven't heard it when dry stearing though it just seems to do it when i pull away!!

is p-torque a generic re-map??? i prefer custom re-maps i used jabba sport and had a custom re-map you get a before and after dyno plot which is pretty cool stuff.

for a hybrib tubo and a forge FMIC you would need a custom remap, but on a standard car the extra cash spent on a custom map could be put to better use on other mods.......... a jabba rear ARB for example!

yea but at the same time a generic map was designed for a specific car and as we all know not all engines are the same my mate has a pd150 golf mk4 and his engine was crap jabba said if he had put a generic map on it would hve prob blown the turbo as the veins were sticking so as he went for a custom map they mapped it to a safe point so although it cost him £100 more he saved his turbo also with generic you don't really know how much your running and it doesn't take your mods into concideration, there is a reason why its more expensive because its much better lol

P-torque do...do custom remaps. I live near yorkshire and drove to wolves..... Great drive home. Generic mapping more for the person who more power but was the car standard so they can revert back when they sell the car.

Personally once I've finished pratting around with all the mods on this car, I will never do it to another car again.. Most of the modded FR - Cupras I've seen, have ended up being revert back to standard to sell on either part -exi or what ever.

Arbs there are a few from the dealerships Skodas VRs has a 21mm ARB which is the thickest from what I've heared, then the 20mm cupra and 19mm FR ARB.... but Rash found thath the subframe for the cupra knocked against the 21mm ARB, don't know if it would with your FR.

i was speaking to jabba today and asked him about front ARB upgrade as i already have the rear one and his reply was "waste of money all it does is counteracts the rear ARB" so i said fair one wont waste my money lol my advice get coilovers and rear antiroll bad and it handles like a dream there is no more handling mods i will do apart from maybe rear strut brace but its not high on my list of things to do.

Did think about a front ARB from the Fabia vRS (21mm compared with 19mm for the FR). Don't think I will now. I guess the front strut brace will help anyway.
