Urgent coolant level

Hi everyone.

Little problem I've noticed with warning symbols coming up on the dashboard. Whilst driving the warning sound flashes and it advised me to check coolant level. I pulled over immediately and checked the coolant level. It had dropped under the minimum marking by about a 2 centimetres. I opened up the screw cap and then the coolant level instantly rose back between the minimum and maximum markings. This has happened three times to me now twice in the past 6 months. Any ideas what this could be?

If you open the the cap when the engine is hot then it will expand and appear to be more than there actually is. Only check the coolant level when the engine is stone cold, if below the minimum then top it up with the correct coolant spec and monitor the level for a few weeks, when the engine is cold.

If the level drops again then you have a leak, so get a warranty repair done.
