VAG-COM stopped working

Hi,

I have my VAG-COM connected to my car and the Port is ok and working and confirmed by the test button but when I try to run the fault scan I always get a windows message telling me VAG-COM has stopped working.

The same happens if I Try to erase the faults of use any functions?

Any ideas?

Im using 409.1 version.

Tried reinstalling it? Sounds more like a Windows/Laptop issue if the error is a windows "This application has stopped responding type error....

Maybe check for other applications that might be trying to access the COM port/usb ports etc?

It does seem to be a windows error. I've installed it numerous times both from the cd and Ross Tech website but always happens. Everything else seems to work in the USB port and thats the only application im running at that time so abit lost now!

Could really do with it working as well, thanks though i'll double check device manager when i try and run it again

Had to run it as administrator

Sorry I did'nt see this thread earlier, the same thing happened to me. Check out this thread. As well as running as an administrator go into properties and run in XP Compatability mode.
