I've seen a VAG car scanner on ebay. It looks like a specific device that pics up the ECU codes. Some of the other PC based software looks like it requires extra licensing (and costs) for the full tools.

Has anyone used a tool like this? As I'm having problems with my PD150 I thought this might be useful to have.

The name of the device on ebay is :

VW AUDI Diagnostic Fault Code Reader VAG OBD2 OBD U280

I can't put the link up as the forum is preventing me from posting URL's

I have bought one of those blue leads from ebay and they come with a shareware version of vagcom (you can DL this free online) it lets you read but don't think you can alter the behaviour of the car....if you have problems getting your laptop to see the interface lead let me know, I have some setup instructions on a text file somewhere- in case I ever wiped the lappy- that worked for me. Once it is up and running turn the ignition on (i didnt start the engine) then run an auto scan. I am a beginner at this but any error codes you put up, you could google or ask on the forum.
