Hi wonder if anybody had any links to any VCDS customizations for the Arona? Step-daughter has just got a 2019 Arona lux and she would like a few things changed, needle sweep etc?

I have the latest HEX V2 cable. I have searched but can't find much. Many thanks for any pointers.

The Seat Ibiza is the sister car so some of the coding is the same. Where models have specific things like the Formentor light bar v say Leon 4 its different. But the core stuff is the same on the same platform. Wiki gives you the platform, then you eyeball the models in the platform and look for the coding between models.

(the only thing I did on the Arona was SS which is the same as the Ateca, 12 volt rather than what it's set on.... did more extensive things on the Ateca but given the Arona isn't my car I stopped at that)

I would not think that a Lux one would need much VCDS fiddling, my younger daughter and husband bought a 2019 1.0TSI Lux a few months ago, but I've not seen it yet as they live in Bromley.

Spare wheel - what does it have, or what if anything have you planned for that space?

I think that I've only just spotted my first Lux Arona today, well at least the first one that I've spotted that has the silver rear panel where the cross bit is, so I've messaged her about that and I'm sure that she will be impressed! Their spare wheel space is vacant but unfortunately as new drivers they can't quite see the advantage of having a spare wheel over the gunge and pump!

Ours is a Lux Xcellence. At the time we bought it with the spare wheel. It was an addition and Seat supplied it with it. Full size plus tools. Sure we haven't had this conversation before. The order line was this:

Factory Fitted Options FULL SIZE SPACE SAVER WHEEL WITH ALL TOOLS 165.83

Final figure the price in December 2018.

Seat have it well rehearsed now selling these components where they aren't in the final delivery package. E.g.. come out the factory without.

Short of digging about under the boot floor pass on dimensions but it is a bundled that was sold. Swap out. Basically the parts are common between models, so the Leon mk3 space saver is the same as the Ateca. The full size Arona will be the same as an Ibiza I guess. You find them on eBay and I'm sure we have a parts sponsor that can help as well.

@Tell, yes, I was only asking this member what the plan was for that 2019 Arona in case I pick up any newer tips, my younger daughter and her husband don't seem to need a spare wheel, but I'm trying to change their minds and if possible supply them with all necessary info, if and when I succeed. The present cost is round about £300.

Thanks for all the replies, managed to change a couple of things, Needle Sweep and Fan Speed on Auto. Hers dosn't have a spare wheel, but we have her spare wheel from her 2015 Ibiza, which we bought. Just need to check the size and hopefully it will be fine.

I have the fan speed one on the Ateca, useful for read out. Kessy was the other one. Early Kessy Seats had an annoying way to lock the car with mirrors in. You had to stand for about 3 seconds touching the sensor to get the mirrors in. This was a unique selling point of how it worked on Seat. Daft. They relented in the 2019 models like the Arona with the one touch lock and windows in although you get the screen to make it like the old way if you want. VCDS / Obdeleven coding can be done on these early models to bring out the menu and toggle it to close the sensible way, one touch as per the vehicles shipped since the 2019 model range.

You can bring up a menu to toggle DLR off. This will be in the Arona for sure. Useful if you do coding on public roads as I did in London. You wouldn't want to attract attention to yourself of people when parked up the side road who thought they owned the public road outside their property 😂. Big drive now so not an issue.

I did try to get the speed limit to come up on the front dash like it does in Lane Assist with TSR on the Arona without Lane Assist camera installed but concluded the logic was not in the units so I unravelled the mods. Was after the digitised road speed showing under your nose. All my Ateca ones in Obdeleven Pro form are on the pinned thread on the Ateca side which has Lane Assist with TSR.

I had not considered the Ibiza spare wheel as I think that the size and so the rolling radius of the 2015 Ibiza is smaller than what the range of standard fit 2015 etc Ibiza will be, also I have not checked the width and offset of the Ibiza wheels, I know that they are slightly different to the same age Polo - having almoat bought a set of Audi A1 winter alloys-tyres soon after buying that Polo new, and I think that the A1 and Ibiza share or roughly share wheel sizes/width/offset and Polo shares that with Fabia.

Maybe I'll look deeper into that, I do know that skinny space savers are only roughly the same rolling radius as road wheels, but if I was buying a spare wheel from scratch, I'd always aim to get one that was the same as used on one model of the car that I was going to maybe need to use it with.
