Hi all,

Is there anyone in Oxford that might be able to help me out with VAG COM and how to get the automatic windows operating from the key fob?

Think it would be a great little mod to do but i cant get my head round it all and i dont just want to buy the KWV100 device because of all the bad reviews i have read. Hopefully someone will be able to help me out!!!

Cheers. :help:

What bad reviews have you read? The KVW100 has worked perfectly on many hundreds of VAG cars for sure. Only trouble with Ibizas is that it doesn't work on post-facelift models, so if your car is '06 or later then you won't be able to do it unfortunately.

It encrypts the comfort control module so that you can't make any other changes. It's to prevent you from copying their coding.

Apparently anyway.

My mate did mine the other day on VDS Pro, also disabled the selective locking too so that all the doors unlock on 1 press of the fob.

As Dscape says, the unit itself works fine, and is just the job for those who aren't bothered about it locking things up. If you do want to make changes to the CCM at a later date, it's safer to do the manual thing.

So how do you do it via vag com? Think we could do with a thread in the mk4 section that lists all the stuff we can do to the mk4, I was literally just about to post one up.

I really want this feature, was the last straw for me yesterday when it pissed it down and my car was at the back of works carpark with the windows down :( got drenched!

Great shout would be a big help to a lot of people.

With regards to the KWV100 i have read exactly what DScape suggests. My car is an '05 Ibiza FR Tdi so hopefully i should be quids in when i can find someone that can help me! :D

Anyway with regards to my orginal post does anyone know how i can do this or anyone in or near Oxford that could help me? I have access to a T4 diagnostics piece of equipment but litterally have no clue if this can do anything for me or just read fault codes?!

DScape - How long did it take your mate to do it did he say it was an easy job or not?

Just got vagcom so learning myself. A thread full of things would be great. I'm currently starting a word document to put a few bits and pieces in. Auto windows would be a good addition!

Top stuff, i wouldnt mind taking a look when your done if thats cool with you?

I might have to invest in VAG COM for future use as well. I read so much about it on here so could be a good investment. What i really need (want) for the moment is someone to set my automagic window closing on the key blip. I shall keep searching for that good soul to help me.

I should mention that auto windows can't be done with vagcom. It is either done with the Czech program (search on here) or VDS-Pro (search on here).

Damon, what do the KVW instructions say? I believe there are different responses based on whether it has been successful, failed, faulty etc.

I dont think the Czech program works on Mk4s yet.
At least it didnt the last time I checked

Looking at my work I'll be in derby over the next two weeks, at home from about 8PM onwards? Send me a PM when you're set and we'll sort something out.

Okey doke will od cheers pal.

Was chatting to my ol' boy last night about the automatic windows and he said he had some problems with them undoing on their own randomly. For him it was in a car park and over night one night.... Anyone else had similar problems?

He's got the new Passat so can easily switch them off but was wondering if anyone had this problem as i park near a busy road and have some expensive ICE in my car!

I remember a few posts about people having issues with regulators, they do as you describe and seem to drop an inch or two after they're wound up, or they return to their car and the window is open. I've not had problems with mine since I've owned the car, so I'm 99% certain it's not to do with the mod. It's more like the normal electrical gremlins that plague all VAG cars.

Ahh I see. I was most likely to get it done anyways as I think it’s a pretty cool little mod to have just wanted the opinions of those who have already done it. Is it worth getting the chirp on locking done as well? I wouldn’t mind it but do people find it annoying after a while?

Cheers for all the info and willingness to help as well I appreciate it.

I quite like the chirp. I have a dodgy passenger door lock which doesn't always lock. Fortunately the chirp doesn't go off if the doors aren't locked, so if I press the button and it doesn't chirp, I know my passenger door could be open. I press the button again, there's a 'clunk' from all doors and the chirp goes off. Job done.

For the same reason the auto locking above 5 mph doesn't work properly on mine, it locks and then straightaway unlocks so when you're in stop-start traffic it's forever locking and unlocking!

I take it this is not a side effect of messing with the comfort control module? just a dodgy door lock!? Sounds pretty handy in your case about the chirp and I want it because im always worrying when I park up somewhere if I have locked my car or not, hopefully the chirp will make me sure I have.

I think if possible Slimy i fancy having the unlock when 1 blip does both doors and the boot, auto windows and locking chirp? Is this something that is easy enough to do and how long does it take I don’t want to be a burden on you when we meet! Ill definatly have to sort you out if you can do that lot for me. Also I have the FR Tdi 05 plate, from what I have read it should work ok right?
