Owen Development ones are garret internals in an IHI wrapper for mounting..
FP Green, Red, Deadbolt Superzilla etc are garret comp wheels on TD06 turbines, on IHI flange type. (7cm, 8cm sizes available for housing)

Manifold type needs to suit whichever is chosen (not all of these bottom mount on the usual mani) - Top mount and worlds your oyster :)

I am after something that will give me a good 350+ BHP on an APX engine with the least turbo lag. Ideally I would want that 350+ to be as high as possible, but not at the cost of driveability etc.

Oh, and as cheap as possible ... so trying to keep the intake side of things standard, which may well limit my performance - but then it always offers room for improvement later!

Vf34/p20 on a standard 1.8t=340bhp max
+ Head and decent set of cams=365bhp max
The compressor wheel is just too small too produce anymore.
Personally if your going jabba mounted i'd go for a 18g.

How's the response on the GT2871R?

Not going jabba mounted, looking at JBS for the manifold if it is an IHI turbo. Also looking at their twin scroll set up.

Power goal is 350+

I was always told the Garretts were laggy compared to the IHIs, which is why I started looking at IHIs originally. The Eliminator kit does have some advantages, being relatively cheap, as (AFAIK) you can run it from the original manifold, but that does leave quite a substantial restriction to its potential.

please dont think that the IHI is lag free as compaired to the k03/4 its noticeably laggyer kicks in at around 3800 rpm ( ish ) but pulls all the way to the redline.

3800rpm:confused:mine was on full boost before that!

mine made pull boost at 3500rpm,gt2871r is more linear delivery but with proper 400bhp potential.vf34 quicker delivery but 340bhp potential.A 18g should do 350/360bhp.

what 18g are you referring to?surely a vf34 with a 18g comp wheel would do less not more?

I personally do not like eliminator.. I was referring to a proper GT2871R

td05h 18g,18g wheel is bigger than vf34 compressor wheel,td05h housing is bigger than puny p20 housing. It's comparable to a proper evo turbo so 350-360bhp.

Bill has a good point that with a top mounted gt2871r turbo could then be swapped at a later date for a bigger turbo when the engine is stronger.

ryan, what would you say my tdo5/20g(44lb/min) turbo should do?

Thats a tough one, It's a very big compressor wheel in a small exhaust housing. The 20g wheel is capable of 450bhp but the td05h housing will strangle the power above 400bhp.
To give you some idea a Evo FP Green which is basically a evo 9 turbo td05h 16g with a larger 20g compressor wheel and porting etc will do 450bhp max.
I know you are running a td05h 20g but who built it??
